OSHA Plans Future Silica Rule Enforcement Directive

Last week, Dr. Howard Marks met with OSHA's new Director for the Directorate of Construction Dean McKenzie at a meeting of the Construction Association Safety and Health Information Network. McKenzie mentioned several issues of potential interest to NAPA members, including plans to develop an enforcement directive for the Silica Rule, the agency's latest Standards Improvement Project, and the upcoming finalization of the Walking-Working Surfaces Rule for general industry, which was first proposed in 2010. NAPA continues to monitor OSHA activities affecting the industry; as details become available, NAPA will keep its members informed.
