AASA: The School Superintendents Association will host a webinar on improving school discipline policy and practice. AASA will share findings from our groundbreaking survey of 500 local school leaders that investigated the state of district-wide school discipline, how and why districts use exclusionary discipline, the revision and parameters of district's discipline policies and the efforts being made to create more positive school climates to reduce discipline disparities.

AASA with our partners, the Children's Defense Fund, are working to find solutions for the challenges of school discipline policy and will highlight districts that have successfully implemented reforms. This webinar will feature Dr. Richard Carranza, superintendent of the San Francisco Unified School District, who will share the school discipline reforms San Francisco is implementing that improve school climate and academic achievement for students.

Presenters:
Bryan Joffe,  AASA Project Director
Sasha Pudelski, AASA Assistant Director of Policy & Advocacy
