Contest deadline: January 17, 2017

AFS Project: Change is an educational contest that prompts 8th-12th graders to analyze and address global issues through volunteerism. By participating in this service learning project, students realize their potential to create global change, and build important 21st century skills like critical thinking, collaboration, empathy and intercultural communication.

Students enter by submitting an original volunteer project idea (via essay or video) that could have a meaningful impact abroad. If a student’s idea is chosen as the winning project, they will receive a full scholarship to spend two weeks abroad and make their vision come to life. Nine other students will also receive scholarships to participate in the program.
