Alumni Highlight: Fulbright Distinguished Teacher Named MCPS Teacher of the Year

On May 3, 2016, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) announced Fulbright Distinguished alumnus, Michael Williams, as the winner of the 2016-2017 MCPS Teacher of the Year award. Michael has worked for MCPS for 14 years and is currently a resource teacher in the social studies department at John F. Kennedy High School in Silver Spring, MD. In the fall of 2014, Michael participated in the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Program in Chile for four months, during which time he developed a project called 'Crossing Borders to Close the Gap: Lessons, Strategies & Global Best Practices for Closing the Achievement Gap'. Michael will now go on to compete for Maryland Teacher of the Year.
