IIE is pleased to announce the release of the Spanish-language version of its bestselling A Parent Guide to Study Abroad.

Published in collaboration with the AIFS Foundation and written by three leading study abroad experts—Stacie Nevadomski Berdan, Allan E. Goodman, and William Gertz—this companion guide to A Student Guide to Study Abroad contains critical information parents need to inform themselves and to support their high school or college student as he or she navigates the study abroad experience.

Print copies of the English and Spanish editions of A Parent Guide to Study Abroad are available from IIE Publications for $4.95, with a steep discount for bulk copies for schools to give out to parents: 20 copies for $20.00.

The IIE-AIFS Foundation Generation Study Abroad Enrichment Grants Program recognizes U.S. secondary-level teachers who have shown to be outstanding advocates for study abroad. The program is a professional development opportunity for teachers who have taken the Generation Study Abroad pledge to prepare their students for global citizenship and study abroad. Fifty enrichment grants of $1,000 each are available to teachers to conduct any learning activity in the United States or abroad that enhances their international outlook and global experience.

On Monday, October 12, STA Travel, in collaboration with the Foundation for Global Scholars, will launch the second round of its Start the Adventure Scholarship. The Start the Adventure Scholarship was born out of a desire by STA Travel to recognize both student and institution. Thus, $2500 is awarded to a deserving student, and a matching donation of $2500 is made to the student's home university or college to award to an additional student of their choice for study abroad.

IIE created these awards to honor outstanding initiatives in international higher education by IIENetwork member universities and colleges. IIE's Heiskell Awards showcase the most innovative and successful models for internationalization of campuses, study abroad, and international exchange partnerships in practice today. There are four award categories for 2016: Internationalizing the Campus, Study Abroad, International Partnerships, and Internationalizing the HBCU or Community College.
