IIE, in collaboration with the New York Times in Education, has selected the recipients of the Generation Study Abroad Voices Video Challenge. The winning digital stories will be unveiled at the IIE Summit on Generation Study Abroad with both winners present to share their stories. In the lead up to the IIE Summit, runner-up videos will be posted to the IIE YouTube channel as well as the Generation Study Abroad website. Check those pages often to see these great alumni voices!

Hosted by the DC Public Schools Global Education office and featuring speakers from the Asia Society and Longview Foundation, join district-level leaders and administrators for a focused brainstorming session to  examine the growing field of K-12 global education, the role of study abroad in K-12 global education initiatives, and discuss next steps for developing students’ global competence and a "culture of travel" in local school districts. A key takeaway will be how to create a K-12 environment in which global experiences are the expectation rather than the exception. The session will be held under the umbrella of the inaugural IIE Summit on Generation Study Abroad.

Summer Program Deadline: February 2, 2016

The online applications for 2016 Whitaker International Program awards are now open. Administered by IIE, the Whitaker International Program provides funding for biomedical engineering and bioengineering students and post-docs to conduct a field-relevant activity abroad. All students/post-docs/junior faculty who are considering a period of study or research abroad are encouraged to apply. Should you have any questions, please email whitaker@iie.org.

The Global Study Awards is an exciting initiative being launched by the International Student Identity Card (ISIC), StudyPortals, and the British Council IELTS. The aim of the Global Study Awards is to encourage students to study abroad by offering them a chance to win $10,000 towards their tuition fees and living expenses. The Global Study Awards will be available to prospective students in all countries worldwide and enable the successful candidate(s) to study abroad, on any chosen undergraduate program at a higher education institution. Round 1 will award a maximum of four students starting their study abroad program in January 2016.
