Spring and Early Summer Application Deadline: October 7, 2014, 11:59 CST | Application and Program Details

If your institution’s Generation Study Abroad commitment goals included expanding opportunities to underrepresented students or helping secure funding opportunities, the U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship can be a great resource for your campus and can help you meet those goals. The Gilman Program aims to diversify the kinds of students who study and intern abroad and the countries and regions where they go by supporting U.S. undergraduates of high financial need.

The Gilman Program is currently accepting scholarship applications for students participating in study abroad programs and international internships during the spring 2015 and summer 2015 terms, with a deadline of October 7, 2014.

The Gilman International Scholarship Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE). Since the program’s inception in 2001, the Gilman Program has awarded nearly 17,000 U.S. undergraduates of high financial need to study and intern abroad in over 140 countries from more than 1,100 institutions.
