IIE Sub-Saharan Africa signed a bilateral agreement with Ambassador Berhane Gebre-Christos, State Minister of the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on May 2, 2014. The agreement signifies IIE-Ethiopia's compliance with the Ethiopian law of executing regional programs and confirms the Ethiopian government's full support to IIE-Ethiopia's regional activities throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. 

State Minister, Amb. Berhane Gebre-Christos said that the government is willing to cooperate with IIE and support its activities. He also expressed appreciation for IIE's ongoing support and partnership with Ethiopia in many areas, including building university partnerships and enhancing public sector leadership, youth development, leadership development, higher education programs, and agriculture. 

 

IIE- SSA has regional program activities in more than 14 Sub-Saharan African countries through NYUAD and African Centers of Excellence (ACE) for Women's Empowerment programs.
