A recent article by David Wheeler in Al-Fanar Media discusses the "intense competition for international students’ brainpower and spending on display" at the annual meeting of NAFSA: The Association of International Educators. "Many institutions recruit international students for the diversity in perspectives that they bring," writes Wheeler. "But some institutions are also on the hunt for fee-paying students who can offset the costs of domestic ones."
