Host a Threatened Scholar at Your Institution

IIE's Scholar Rescue Fund (SRF)® is seeking academic positions at colleges, universities and research centers around the world for 17 threatened scholars from Colombia, Ethiopia, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, the Sudan and Syria in order that they may continue their academic work in safety.
The IIE-Scholar Rescue Fund provides one-year awards to academic institutions willing to host professors, researchers and public intellectuals facing threats to their lives and academic work in their home countries. These temporary academic visits are intended to allow the scholars to continue to teach, write or research, pending improved conditions that would permit their safe return home. Fellowships may be renewed for a second year. IIE-SRF seeks matching funds or in-kind support from the host partner institution.

The scholars from Iraq listed below have been awarded grants of up to $32,500 for a visiting position. Matching and in-kind support is encouraged.
The scholars below have been awarded grants of up to $25,000 for a visiting position. IIE-SRF seeks matching support (financial, direct and in-kind) from the hosting institution that is equal to or greater than the fellowship award.
