Seeking U.S. Host Institutions: Junior Faculty Development Program for Afghanistan

Deadline to Submit Proposals: September 14, 2012

U.S. institutions are invited to submit proposals to host participants from the Junior Faculty Development Program for Afghanistan (JFDPA). The 10-week program will sponsor 20 junior faculty from Afghanistan to be placed at one selected U.S. institution for intensive professional development. The program is scheduled to take place from early January 2013 through mid-March 2013. Participating institutions will enjoy a unique opportunity to establish lasting relationships with faculty members at universities in Afghanistan and to build on current efforts to internationalize their campuses and surrounding communities.

The deadline for electronic receipt of proposals is September 14, 2012. The Junior Faculty Development Program for Afghanistan is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and administered by the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES), a division of the Institute of International Education (IIE).
