Developing Strategic International Partnerships, the sixth book in the Global Education Research Reports series, compiles a panorama of mutually beneficial partnership programs from across the globe, and features recommendations, models, and strategies for initiating, managing, and sustaining a range of international linkages. Susan Buck Sutton and Daniel Obst, the editors of the book, will be at the IIE booth to discuss the book.

Higher Education Classification in the Middle East and North Africa

Rajika Bhandari will be available to discuss the numerous publications that she has produced at IIE. These include Higher Education Classification in the Middle East and North Africa, a white paper on the first-ever study to establish a classification system in the MENA region; and International Students and Global Mobility in Higher Education, a book published by Palgrave Macmillan that examines current trends in global student mobility patterns in several key host and destination countries. Bhandari will also discuss her recently launched Center for Academic Mobility Research and how it relates to your institution.

Open Doors, supported by a grant from the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, provides a comprehensive statistical analysis of academic mobility between the United States and the nations of the world. Patricia Chow will be at the IIE Booth to discuss the publication, mobility in general, and how your institution can become involved in Open Doors. In addition, Raisa Belyavina will be on-hand to discuss Project Atlas, a collaborative research and data-sharing initiative focused on collecting and disseminating accurate data on student mobility, and its most recent book: Student Mobility and the Internationalization of Higher Education.

Learning by Doing: Expanding International Internships/Work Abroad Opportunities for U.S. Engineering Students
Sabeen Altaf, Program Officer, Science and Technology Programs, Institute of International Education
Learning by Doing, a forthcoming IIE briefing paper, serves as a comprehensive follow-up to the workshop held at IIE in Washington, DC, in April on internship and work abroad programs in the STEM fields, specifically creating, maintaining, funding, and assessing these programs. Sabeen Altaf will be at the IIE booth to distribute copies of the briefing paper and discuss international internships and work abroad programs in general.
