From October 18–20, 2012, California State University, San Bernardino will host a unique international education conference, "Opening New Frontiers: US-India Cooperation in Higher Education." The primary goal of the conference is to provide a forum where American institutions can share best practices in establishing successful partnerships with Indian institutions in the context of the Indian system of higher education and the changing political environment. Representatives from Indian institutions will share their perspective and the needs of Indian institutions. Participation by representatives of the U.S. Department of State, the Institute of International Education, and the Department of Education will provide a unique opportunity to place this type of cooperation in a larger context of the U.S.-India relationship.
