Call for Papers: IIENetworker Magazine Fall 2012 Issue

Theme: "Strategic International Enrollment Management"

Deadline for Submission: June 15th, 2012

IIENetworker, the international education magazine of the Institute of International Education (IIE), invites submissions for publication in its upcoming Fall 2012 issue. The theme of the fall issue of IIENetworker will be: "Strategic International Enrollment Management."

International Enrollment Management (IEM) has increasingly become a crucial component of an institution’s overall internationalization strategy. IEM offers an operational plan that higher education institutions can implement to help recruit, admit, and retain international students. With the continued increase of international student enrollment in the United States and around the world, having an IEM strategy in place is essential.

This issue of the IIENetworker will examine innovative ways that colleges, universities, and other organizations have devised and implemented IEM strategies. Proposed articles should focus on: conceiving, developing, and implementing international enrollment strategies; successful models of IEM in action; holistic approaches to IEM; developing IEM strategies that fit your institution’s culture and mission; external influences on IEM (global trends, student mobility, policy-making on the national and international level, etc.); garnering support for IEM at your institution; strategies for dealing with large growth markets; and the relationship of IEM to comprehensive campus internationalization.

We are particularly interested in presenting a variety of perspectives from around the globe. Submissions from individuals or institutions around the world are strongly encouraged.

Most articles in the magazine will be between 2 and 4 pages (between 1000 and 1500 words). Please let us know as soon as possible if you plan to submit an article. The deadline for submission of completed articles is June 15, 2012. The author will be notified as soon as a publication decision is made.
