SIT Launches New Programs in Cuba and Argentina for Fall 2012

SIT Study Abroad will again offer a semester program in Cuba as well as a new program focused on public health in Argentina. Both programs include intensive language instruction in Spanish.

The Cuba: History, Culture, and Identity program will be based in the political and cultural capital of Havana and include field-based learning in select provinces. The program will provide an immersive cultural examination of Cuba’s rich artistic traditions, ethnic heritages and identity, and historical developments. Coursework will be delivered primarily by faculty members of the Unión Nacional de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba.

Based in Buenos Aires, the Argentina: Public Health in Urban Environments program offers students the chance to investigate public health policy, epidemiology, and issues of equity and access in one of Latin America’s largest cities. Lectures will be held at ISALUD University, Argentina’s primary academic institution for public and private health managers and stakeholders. In addition to ISALUD faculty, program lecturers will include academics from Arturo Jauretche National University and practitioners from Hospital El Cruce.
