October 2, 2015, 7:20–8:30 AM in Washington, DC | Registration Deadline: August 29, 2015

Hosted by the DC Public Schools Global Education office and featuring speakers from the Asia Society and Longview Foundation, join district-level leaders and administrators for a focused brainstorming session to examine the growing field of K-12 global education, the role of study abroad in K-12 global education initiatives, and discuss next steps for developing students’ global competence and a "culture of travel" in local school districts. A key takeaway will be how to create a K-12 environment in which global experiences are the expectation rather than the exception. The session will be held at the Grand Hyatt, 1000 H Street NW, under the umbrella of the inaugural IIE Summit on Generation Study Abroad.
