Spring and Early Summer Application Deadline: October 6, 2015, 11:59 PM CT | Learn More

The U.S. Department of State's Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program is pleased to announce that the online application is open for students participating in credit-bearing study abroad programs and international internships during the spring 2016 and summer 2016 terms. The Gilman Program aims to diversify the kinds of students who study and intern abroad and the countries and regions where they go. All eligible applicants are encouraged to apply. For more information about the Gilman Scholarship, webinar schedules, and other helpful resources, including subscription to Gilman Advisor Newsletters, please visit the Gilman website at www.iie.org/gilman.

Advisors have until October 13 to certify Spring 2016 applications and Summer 2016 early applications.

The Summer 2016 early application is for students who are already applying to their summer 2016 study or intern abroad program and would prefer earlier notification of their scholarship application status (February 2016) to better plan their financial commitments. The Gilman Program will continue to offer a summer application for students in January, in conjunction with the fall 2015/academic year 2015-2016 application cycle, with March 1, 2016 deadline.

The Gilman International Scholarship Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE). Since the program's inception in 2001, the Gilman Program has awarded over 19,000 U.S. undergraduates of high financial need to study and intern abroad in over 140 countries from more than 1,100 institutions. Thanks to all supporters of the Gilman Scholarship Program.
