Julia Hendrickson, WES Program Director at IIE’s Center for Women’s Leadership Initiatives, shares about Chadleya Idriss’s new toy company, launched in Tunisia after winning seed funds through IIE’s WES Center for Women’s Business Development. "Girls represent 60 percent of all university students in Tunisia and graduate at higher rates than their male counterparts," writes Hendrickson, "Yet in 2012, only one in four women was active in the national labor market." Fulfilling promise of revolution, she points out, requires assuring opportunities for Tunisian women as well as men.
