IIE Vice President for External Affairs and IIE Initiatives, Daniela Kaisth, shares her experience at the expert seminar "Higher Education in Emergencies," organized and hosted by the Global Platform for Syrian Students. The event—which was co-organized by IIE, the Arab League, British Council, and Council of Europe—brought together NGOs, multilateral agencies, governments, and universities to discuss ways to combine humanitarian efforts with support for higher education when responding to conflicts and other emergencies. "Getting a scholarship is just one step in a long road," Ms. Kaisth is quoted saying in an Al-Fanar Media article on the event.
