The Sutton Trust in partnership with the U.S.-UK Fulbright Commission is running a U.S. Program to give bright, state school students interested in attending a U.S. university, a preview of life on a U.S. campus and support in making high quality undergraduate applications to the United States. The number of students in the program attending U.S. universities has nearly tripled and over $14 million in financial aid has been secured.

The Sutton Trust program will send 61 UK state school students to start degrees in the United States—three times as many as last year. Three will attend Harvard, three Yale, and five Princeton. Sir Peter Lampl, Chairman of the Sutton Trust, said: "These new results are a sign that more young people from low and middle income homes are‎ making informed choices about their futures - considering top US universities alongside their UK counterparts, just as those from affluent backgrounds have been doing."
