IIE & EducationUSA Representation at the EAIE Conference in Istanbul

The EAIE Conference in Istanbul is approaching, and once again the Institute of International Education (IIE) will have a booth (#514) and present in sessions and workshops on international partnerships, U.S. higher education, and other major topics. Conference participants are invited to stop by IIE Europe’s booth (no. 514) to meet with IIE staff and learn about IIE’s wide range of programs and activities.

EducationUSA will host the largest ever U.S. Pavilion (booth # 119) featuring representatives from 20 accredited U.S. higher education institutions. EducationUSA will organize a U.S.-Europe Networking Reception at the pavilion on Thursday, September 12th.

IIE Panels at the 2013 EAIE Conference

Title: Building Strategic International Partnerships in Engineering
Time:  Thursday, September 12 from 09:00 to 10:15
This session will focus on the difference between ‘transactional’ and ‘transformational’ partnerships. Speakers from universities around the world including NTU in Singapore, ENSEA in France, and MUAS in Germany will present on designing and sustaining partnership programmes specific to international engineering education.

Title: Trends in US Higher Education: Challenges and Innovations
Time:  Thursday, September 12 from 11:00 to 12:00
Explore trends in internationalisation at U.S. institutions, as well as challenges they are facing and innovations taking place. New competitors and a tight financial environment make sustainability and innovation in internationalization more difficult.  An update on U.S. public policy debates that influence international education will set the stage for the discussion.
