New Country Director for IIE/Ethiopia

Wondwossen G. Tekelemichael joined IIE’s Ethiopia Office as Country Director last month. Tekelemichael comes to IIE with more than 20 years of senior leadership and management experiences in educational, government and international organizations.

He recently served as Deputy Head of School for Operations & Finance in the International Community School of Addis Ababa, where he was in charge of administration of multicultural work force and managing of multi million dollars budget. 
 
Tekelemichael also served in the then-Organization of African Unity (now AU), where he was responsible for Peace Fund grants administration and management. Prior to that, he served in the Regional Budget and Fiscal Office of the Embassy of the United States in Addis Ababa, where he was responsible for Program and ICAS budgets administration for posts in Addis Ababa, Asmara and Djibouti.
 
He graduated with an MSc. in Economics, with honors, from St. Petersburg University of Finance & Economics in Russia. He is one of the founding member of the Imperial Toastmaster Club of Addis Ababa (a communication and leadership club), and a founding member of the Society of Human Resources Management in Ethiopia (SHRME).
