Student Numbers Soar While Faculty Numbers Plummet in Kenya

Gilbert Nganga writes in University World News that an academic shortage in the country is worsening as the number of students in the country’s public universities increases. "The number of professors working in Kenya’s seven older public universities has risen by a measly 11 percent over the past three years while student numbers have soared by 56 percent, highlighting the challenge the country faces in matching enrolments with lecturers," he writes.
