The Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) Board of Directors has appointed Allan E. Goodman, President and CEO of the Institute of International Education (IIE), to the Advisory Council of the CHEA International Quality Group (CIQG).

The CHEA International Quality Group was launched in September 2012, and seeks to provide a "forum for colleges, universities, accrediting and quality assurance organizations and others worldwide to address issues and challenges focused on quality and quality assurance in an international setting", according to CHEA. The CIQG will address issues ranging from defining quality and addressing rankings to combating degree mills and accreditation mills.

In addition to Dr. Goodman, the advisory council includes 18 other individuals from higher education institutions, associations, and multinational organizations that focus on higher education or quality assurance.

The advisory council will provide guidance with regard to strategic direction, membership development and projects that the CIQG will undertake, as well as identifying key trends and issues in international quality assurance.
