Japanese Education Ministry’s New Funding Projects in Higher Education

The Japanese Ministry of Education has launched a new funding project, The Promotion of Global Human Resource Development, to foster human resources who can positively meet the challenges and succeed in the global field. 42 universities were selected to promote the internalization of university education. In addition, the Japanese Ministry of Education offers the following funding projects for internationalization of Japanese higher education:

• Global 30 Project aims to increase international students studying in Japan; 13 top universities have been selected to nurture internationally competent individuals. 
• Re-Inventing Japan Project provides funding for universities to form collaborative programs.
• The University of Tokyo - International Educational Program for The Head Engineer over the Fronts of Gigantic Systems. 
• Tokyo Institute of Technology - World-Class University Alliance for Educating Techno-Scientific Leaders. 
• Nagoya University - Japan-US Advanced Coacting Education Program for Creating International Cooperation Graduate School of Master Course. 
• Akita International University - Project Learning Courses and Faculty Exchange Platform. 
• Waseda University - Global Leadership Program. 
• Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University - Global Collaborative University Education.
