Job Announcement: Director of U.S. Student Programs at IIE

The Institute of International Education (IIE) is seeking a Director of their U.S. Student Programs division.

The Director manages the operations for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, including overseeing the annual competition and screening of applications by IIE-developed panels of academic specialists; and manages non-Fulbright U.S. student programs at both the undergraduate and graduate level, including the Freeman-Asia scholarships, the Global Engineering Educational Exchange program, the Whitaker Foundation Fellowships in bio-medical engineering, and others. The Director is responsible for all budget, management, administrative, and compliance functions of the division, and oversees a staff of approximately 17 employees.

The ideal candidate will have a master's degree or equivalent academic degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of experience with at least 5 years of experience managing programs and staff; substantial experience and knowledge of the U.S. higher education community as well as U.S. study abroad developments, issues, and directions; and in-depth knowledge of U.S. higher education systems and international educational issues. They will also have direct experience with budgeting and financial administration including grant management, both at the grantee and award levels, financial reporting, understanding financial spreadsheets, etc.; and experience with representing an organization to outside audiences and sophisticated presentation skills.
