IIE Organizes U.S. Study Tour on Alumni and Donor Relations for Finnish University Delegation

From March 25-30, the Institute of International Education's Center for International Partnerships in Higher Education will host a delegation of Finnish higher education leaders for a five-day study tour in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia. This tour was organized on behalf of the Fulbright Center in Finland (Finland-U.S. Educational Exchange Commission). The program will focus on alumni relations and institutional giving related to U.S. higher education, and will consist of workshops and site visits to public and private universities in Maryland and Virginia.

The goal of this delegation from Finnish higher education institutions is to exchange best practices in alumni cooperation, fundraising, and donor relations. The group will learn about the American system from expert speakers and through direct observation at private and public universities.

During the week, the Finnish delegation will visit a range of institutions that represents the diversity of U.S. higher education and meet with officials from the University of Maryland, University of Richmond, Virginia Commonwealth University, and the College of William & Mary. The delegation will also meet with representatives of the Council for Advancement & Support of Education (CASE), Carnegie Mellon University, the John Hopkins University, University of Mary Washington, University of Virginia, and the Embassy of Finland.

Leaders of the Fulbright Center will accompany representatives from Aalto University, Lappeenranta University of Technology, STEPIT/Helsinki Metropolia UAS, University of Helsinki, University of Jyväskylä, and University of Oulu.
