Member Job Announcement: Director of International Programs at Northern Michigan University

Duties and Responsibilities
This position will provide campus-wide leadership in the development of international programs and strategic leadership of all programs designed to promote the internationalization of the University. The Director will be expected to develop a strategic plan for international student recruitment and retention, and coordinate International Program Office activities with other Academic Affairs units. The Director will be responsible for: recruiting international students as well as negotiating exchange agreements with institutions; assisting faculty with the internationalization of the curriculum; promoting study abroad programs; managing budgets; supervising staff; developing and overseeing policies and procedures governing international studies and programs; supervising legal aspects of institutional SEVIS compliance; and planning the development, implementation, and management of international projects and programs.

Qualifications
The successful candidate must possess a master’s degree; five years of international programs experience; experience with international admissions and student recruitment and Department of Homeland Security regulations; excellent oral and written English communication skills; budget creation and financial analysis skills; experience in managing exchange and study abroad programs.
