New York University, New York, USA

The Scholars at Risk Network, a partner of IIE's Scholar Rescue Fund, is an international network of higher education institutions and individuals working to protect threatened intellectuals and promote academic freedom and related values worldwide. Scholars at Risk invites higher education institutions in any country to send representatives to "Courage to Think," a conference celebrating the 10th anniversary of the network's operations. The conference will feature workshops exploring practices for protecting threatened scholars and for promoting academic freedom; dialogues with SAR and SRF scholars, partners, and higher education leaders; and a keynote ceremony that includes the presentation of the inaugural Scholars at Risk Network Courage to Think Award.
