Application Deadline: October 17, 2016

The Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence (S-I-R) Program offers U.S. higher education institutions the opportunity to host a non-U.S. scholar.  By supporting non-U.S. scholars through grants for teaching at institutions that might not have a strong international component, both the U.S. institution and the scholar grantee benefit. S-I-R gives preference to Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic-Serving Institutions, Tribal Colleges and Universities, community colleges, small, liberal arts institutions, Asian-American and Native American/Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions, American Indian and Alaskan Native and Predominantly Black Institutions. There are also opportunities for other institutions to partner with preference organizations.

Visit the S-I-R website to learn how the program can help advance your institution’s international presence, assist in faculty and curriculum development, and diversify the educational experiences of its students, scholars and surrounding community. Do you have questions about the S-I-R application? Register for the Final Call for Questions webinar on September 16 for information on the S-I-R program and application.

The Fulbright Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, is the U.S. government’s flagship international exchange program and is supported by the people of the United States and partner countries around the world.
