IIE’s Scholar Rescue Fund has provided safe haven to persecuted scholars for decades, and is among the organizations stepping in to ensure that many of these academics can continue their studies outside of their war-torn countries.

Having individuals who can share their experiences in a culturally sensitive way is key to working with aging populations. The Fulbright Program and Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program on behalf of the U.S. Department of State, show how effective this kind of exchange can be in bringing together professionals for the greater good.  

This 13-week program aims to introduce high performing employees to the company's global offices and strengthen connections across the organization, in a model that takes after university study abroad programs.  
 
Pisa tests, an international standard for comparing education systems around the world, could include new measurements related to cultural competency by the year 2018.
