Car windows made from 'liquid' glass could be used as screens for localised targeted information and advertising, according to an Israeli start-up. Technology company Gauzy worked with German carmaker Daimler Benz to develop its opaque screens. It debuted the smart glass at the Autobhan Expo Day in Stuttgart in February. Gauzy developed a method to bond sheets of flexible plastic material containing a liquid crystal layer to car windows which become clear when an electric current is passed through them, but are opaque without it.

The U.S. Congress is working on national self-driving vehicle legislation that could replace state-by state rules and make it easier for automakers to test and deploy the technology, senior U.S. House and Senate lawmakers told Reuters on Tuesday. The chairman of the influential House Energy and Commerce Committee said he planned to unveil a package of legislation to overhaul federal rules governing self-driving vehicles.

A proposed Mister B's car wash could open off Fortress Boulevard and Manson Pike by summer 2018, an owner said. "It would be the first one in the Gateway district," said Barrett Webb, a Murfreesboro resident who co-owns the Mister B's Express Wash on West Clark Boulevard off Memorial Boulevard in the central part of the city.

Brothers Stan and Steve Cox are working on their second Trax Express Carwash, this time in Andover. "It seems like we’ve kind of got a niche in small communities," Stan Cox says. Four years ago, he and his brother, who is CEO of Cox Machine, opened their first Trax in Derby, where Stan Cox lives.

Mister Car Wash opened its 15th Tucson location at 4600 E. Broadway, near Swan Road. As part of the celebration, Mister Car Wash is offering free platinum express washes at the new location to all customers through June 10. Mister Car Wash employs more than 7,000 people throughout 229 car washes and 34 lube centers across the country. It is headquartered in Tucson.
