The founder of a Northeast Wisconsin business was recognized Monday by the Rotary Club of Green Bay. William "Red" Lewis is the club's 2017 Free Enterprise Award Recipient. He founded PDQ Car Wash 50 years ago and has created the largest car wash equipment manufacturing company in the world.

Mike’s Carwash, once again, teamed up with Big Brothers Big Sisters for a fundraiser on Saturday, May 13. All 5 Mike’s Carwash locations in Fort Wayne donated half the proceeds of Ultimate and Works Washes to Big Brothers Big Sisters, which helps offset the cost for youth mentoring programs.

The world’s longest car wash may be coming to Katy as part of the new Buc-ee’s gas station and store expected to open in the West Ten Business Park near Cane Island later this year. The 255-foot car wash will accompany a 56,000-foot store and about 120 gas pumps, said Jeff Nadalo, Buc-ee’s general counsel. "Katy is a great city," Nadalo said. "The location along I-10 will complement our other cities in Baytown and Luling that are also along the interstate."

When he was thinking of how to fill the former home of Savannah’s American Grill in Kensington, Harris, who also owns the adjacent Mr. Wash car wash and its other locations, said he wanted to open something that would provide a service and act as a gathering space for people in the area.

Grand Slam Car Wash recently broke ground for its new Cumming location at 2415 Peachtree Parkway. With a planned October opening date, the business will consist of a 6,000-square-foot facility with the latest equipment, gourmet coffee bar, 26 free vacuums spaces, and 30 full-service and detail spaces.
