A different sort of car wash has opened in Chico, called Surf Thru Express Car Wash. It’s at Forest Avenue and Notre Dame Boulevard. First, it’s solar powered, which makes sense with incentives and the north state’s abundance of sun.

The race to produce a self-driving car just got a little more crowded. Samsung Electronics Co. is taking its autonomous vehicle program out of the shop and onto the street, following a decision by the South Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to allow the company to test its sensor-laden vehicles on public roads.

Flying Ace Express Car Wash will celebrate its Beavercreek location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday. The car wash, which officially opened in January, will host a grand opening ribbon cutting with the Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce. The car wash has a 3-minute express exterior wash and unlimited washing monthly memberships starting at $15.

Gate Petroleum will build one of its new standalone express car washes at the corner of Philips Highway and Emerson Street. The company first announced the new line of car washes last year, saying it’s planning at least 20 in the area.

Leadership
The importance of delaying gratification is universally recognized. Being able to forgo immediate benefits in order to achieve larger goals in the future is viewed as a key skill. For example, consider the classic "marshmallow test" experiment: children’s ability to delay eating one marshmallow so that they can get two marshmallows later is linked to a number of positive life outcomes, including academic success and healthy relationships.
