The popular and environmentally friendly Autobell® Car Wash Fundraising Program continues to assist charities, schools, and other nonprofits reach their goals. Launched in 1998, the program helped raise $755,895 in 2016 and more than $8.3 million to date. Through the program, Autobell, based here, provides 501(c)(3) groups with $20 gift cards that do not expire and are redeemable at all Autobell locations in the Carolinas, Georgia, Virginia, and Maryland. Nonprofits sell the cards at full price and keep 50% of the proceeds.

From his two decades’ worth of work at WaterPark Car Wash in the Quad-Cities, Lee Calabria knows that many regular customers skip lunch to get their vehicles cleaned over the noon hour. He also knows the average full-service carwash at WaterPark takes between 18 and 30 minutes. During their wait, customers can snack on complimentary coffee and popcorn, but Calabria said those offerings do not quite satisfy a hungry customer's appetite.

Capitol Car Wash on Princeton Avenue in Lawrenceville has been helping area cars clean for the past 55 years, and the current owners have been a part of that for nearly a decade. Scott Servetah and Steve Ward purchased the location from Hubert Zada about 10 years ago. Zada ran the carwash for approximately 40 years before retiring to Florida.

After 29 years as Courtesy Car Wash, Patrick Heald, general manager, knows what makes a clean car. Courtesy Car Wash was voted by Advocate readers the best carwash and detailing service. Overall, Heald said winning felt excellent. "We focus on customer service and getting everything that needs to be done to the vehicle," Heald said.

The newest Mike's Carwash at 814 Eastgate North Drive is officially open and ready to make a splash in the Eastgate community. To celebrate the grand opening, Mike's will host a Free Ultimate Wash Weekend.

Mister Car Wash recently announced the acquisition of Cruz Thru Car Wash, a chain of 10 Express stores based in Bakersfield, California. "Cruz Thru is widely considered one of the most innovative, high-volume car washes in the industry and a great platform for entry into California" said Casey Lindsay.

Merced’s Planning Commission has approved a 5,500-square-foot carwash for the city’s downtown, making for at least the second pending carwash project, records show. The Prime Shine Car Wash is set to go up at 930 W. 16th St., which is on the south side of the street and about 500 feet from R Street. The 1.7-acre lot sits empty across from New Thai Cuisine, formerly the Rice Bowl.

The Hatfield Township Commissioners have approved the construction of a new carwash between Route 309 and Old Bethlehem Pike near Line Lexington Road. The fully automated facility will replace an adult entertainment facility on the site and be open 24 hours every day. Board of Commissioners President Tom Zipfel says the developer will add a turning lane onto southbound Route 309 that will allow motorists to make a right hand turn into the carwash.
