While fully self-driving cars still remain rooted in the future, a growing number of vehicles are offering semi-autonomous features that will, for example, self-park a car, help keep the vehicle centered within highway lane markers, and perhaps most importantly, automatically apply the brakes if necessary to help prevent both high- and low-speed collisions.

The Bubble Bath Car Wash owner Larry Lopez always wanted to use solar power, but the price was never right... until now. Originally a dentist by training, Lopez and his son Nick Lopez successfully launched the car wash chain in 2005. Eleven years later, the family-owned business has four locations in San Antonio and Helotes with plans to add two more over the next few months. 

"As a former Tulsan and an artist, I have frequented many Tulsa car washes," said Tompkins, now a New York resident. "I had an epiphany one day about how gorgeous it is in the car wash as you roll along with all the colors and light splattering your windshield. So I started taking millions of photos of it and, sure enough, people love the photos and I have had them in several exhibitions and even on CBS News."

If you’ve ever driven down Harvard Street and seen the ScrubaDub and wondered what a car wash was doing in Brookline? Wonder no more. It all started 50 years ago with a traveling salesman and a big idea. Marshall Paisner was on the West Coast on business, selling supermarket promotions, when he saw a new kind of car wash – modern with friendly staff. 

Splash and Dash Car Wash on the Old Steese Highway set a goal of raising $20,000 in support of the Breast Cancer Detection Center in Fairbanks. Throughout the month of October, the car wash has been taking $5 from the sale of every 'Lava Wash' and donating it to BCDC. And fittingly, the lava wash is pink. As of Saturday afternoon, the car wash had raised $17,000 towards its $20,000 goal. 

Boomerang Car Wash will give out free car washes from its new North State Line Avenue car wash starting Wednesday. "We will wash cars for free from Wednesday through Friday, possibly Saturday," said Ed Colvard, vice president of marketing, branding and development.

The Commissioner of the township of New Georgia in Montserrado County, Lewis K. Wleh Sr., has donated a parcel of deeded land to Humble Youth International (HYI) Incorporated to construct a modern car wash. In response, HYI executive director Ibrahim S.A. Sankoh expressed gratitude to Commissioner Wleh and the people New Georgia for the land. Sankoh promised to use the land to construct a modern car wash, which is expected to be the first ever modern car wash in the country, for the benefit and employment of the youth in the community.
