International Carwash Association has been fielding phone calls from the car wash community related to a recent commercial aired by Farmers Insurance that depicts a father and son entering their car into an automatic wash behind an extremely dirty truck. The car is subsequently left pummeled by dirt and stones, causing severe damage. We're concerned with this depiction of the car wash industry and have reached out to Farmers Insurance with a request to remove the ad from circulation.

For the month of October, 7 Flags Car Wash is partnering with the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help raise awareness for Breast Cancer as well as to raise money to find a cure to eliminate breast cancer completely.  The Susan G. Komen Foundation’s Sacramento affiliate will be donating banners that promote the "Race for the Cure" as well as Breast Cancer Awareness bracelets, pins, buttons, and brochures.

San Antonio-based Bee Clean Car Wash provided free car washes for firefighters on Sunday in honor of National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend. Last year, 79 firefighters died in the line of duty across the nation. Five were from Texas.

Salem Car Wash in Salem, Ohio, is making sure no one goes hungry by hosting a fundraiser throughout the month of October. For every customer who buys an "ultimate car wash" or "the works wash," the business will donate $2 to the Second Harvest Food Bank, who is sponsoring the fundraiser.

Rio Car Wash hosted a charity car wash event at both of its Fredericksburg, Va.-area locations last month. All of the proceeds from that day’s washes went to benefit Empower House, a non-profit organization that provides confidential domestic violence assistance in the city of Fredericksburg and the counties of Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George and Caroline.

"Duck In Car Wash was designed to provide the cleanest car possible at a fair price in a timely manner," Mr. Grier said. "We are open seven days a week depending on weather, allowing customers convenient times for customers with busy schedules to get their car washed. Our full-service was services range in price from $13.50 to $25 and we offer exterior only packages that range from $7 to $10. We even offer detailing services by appointment only Monday through Friday."

Patrons pulling up to Zydeco Ride & Shine in Lafayette, La., are greeted with zydeco music blasting from the speakers and a menu of car-wash options named for some of zydeco’s best: you can choose the Clifton, the Sydney, the Dopsie or the Boozoo.
The car wash opened in April, and owner Burley Pellerin, 47, is a fixture at his business. He does the "dirty work" – picking up trash, hosing things off, cleaning the inside of the wash and making sure it looks "especially nice," he says.
