Wash Away Thirst teamed up with charity: water to unite a community of car wash owners, vendors, and clean car enthusiasts for World Water Day, March 22, to raise $10,000 to build a water project in a rural community in Subsaharan Africa or Southeast Asia. The charities succeeded above and beyond their expectations, receiving $15,090 in direct donations.
A new car wash is offering the latest in cleaning technology to keep vehicles looking like new. The Tommy's Express car wash recently opened at 2925 44th St., across the street from the Bucktown Shopping Center that includes Cabela's and Target stores.
