CHRP candidates must complete an Experience Assessment requirement to obtain their CHRP designation. 

The Experience Assessment requires CHRP candidates to demonstrate three or more years of professional experience in Human Resources within the past ten years. The Experience Assessments have been in effect since February 2013. The Validation of Professional Experience Committee will be offering an information session on how to effectively complete the Validation of Experience requirement and answer any questions you may have. This session would be worthwhile for any individual who is seeking or considering obtaining their CHRP designation.

The University of Winnipeg Professional, Applied and Continuing Education invites you to participate in an upcoming networking event for full-time Human Resource Management students - a Resumania. The students would value the opportunity to hear your experiences and expertise in the industry and the insight you would bring to this forum. 

Resumania is based on the speed-mentoring concept. It will provide the students with the opportunity to meet one-on-one with recognized HR professionals and get feedback on their resumes. Students will move round-robin across 20 stations, where they will have 6 minutes with each professional. The evening will end with a Mix & Mingle hors d'oeuvres networking hour.

Formerly known as the Excellence in Leadership Awards, the HR Excellence Awards are designed to showcase outstanding Human Resource achievements in Manitoba, honouring employers and individuals who are leaders in diversity, development, impact and innovation. 

The HR Excellence Awards include two types of awards - Business Excellence Awards and Professional Excellence Awards.  The Business Excellence Awards include eight categories which align with the key professional practices of Human Resource Professionals, while the four Professional Excellence Awards are designed to recognize specific individuals for their unique contributions.  

HRMAM encourages organizations and individuals to nominate themselves or others for an HR Excellence Award by submitting an application to the HRMAM office.

These companies are linking financial incentives to specific goals such as losing weight, reducing cholesterol or keeping blood glucose under control. Two directors of New Mex Canada were sentenced to 25 days in jail as a result of a January 2013 incident that occurred in their warehouse in Brampton, Ontario resulting in the death of an employee. Failing to provide information, instruction and supervision and failure to ensure required safety measures required by law were carried out were among the charges New Mex pleaded guilty to. Read More Here
