Organizations have historically dealt with diversity in terms of race, gender, disabilities, etc. They now have to deal with extreme age differences among members of the five generations working together side by side. Since each generation has different expectations for how they want to work, learn and communicate, human resources need to adapt and change their talent management processes to appeal to all generations. As globalization, constant connectivity, mobility, social learning, collaboration and contribution are becoming more and more pervasive, HR has to become more integral to ensure the organization's success. We will show you how HR can succeed in this rapidly changing work environment.

Over 7.1 million Canadians currently live with depression and arthritis, which represents close to 20% of the population and a large percentage of our workforce.

Work With Us is a free workplace-based program - funded by the Government of Canada, presented by The Arthritis Society and Mood Disorders Society of Canada - designed to support Canadians living and working with depression and/or arthritis.

In the 1918 novel The Magnificent Ambersons, written by Booth Tarkington and later adapted for the big screen by the great Orson Welles, Uncle Amberson counsels his irate nephew George that "Nobody has a good name in a bad mouth. Nobody has a good name in a silly mouth either." Read more here

I was an HR chief for eons. I went to a lot of conferences. I gravitated toward the fizzier aspects of HR - culture and communications stuff. I went to conferences about work-life programs and telecommuting and mentoring. I stayed away from the 'quant' side of HR as much as I could. But the conference that had the biggest impact on me over the years was a compensation conference I attended back in 1990. Read more here
