As of January 2014, you will be required to report a minimum of 100 hours of professional development activity in each three year reporting cycle to maintain your CHRP designation. As this is a departure from the former points system, it's beneficial to understand the new reporting requirements. (Please note: For 2014, you may use the points system or the professional development hours system)

HRMAM will be holding two information sessions to help CHRP members understand the new Continuing Professional Development Log:
  • Winnipeg - Tuesday, January 28 - 5pm-630pm at St. Boniface Hospital Auditorium (409 Tache Avenue) - FREE - For more information on this session or to register, please click here
  • Westman Chapter - Thursday, January 23 - 11:30am-12:30pm at Remington's (800 Rosser Avenue) - $20 (includes lunch) - For more information on this session or to register, please click here

The CHRP Experience Assessment is a formal step in earning the CHRP designation that requires candidates to demonstrate three or more years of professional experience in human resources within the last ten years.

To gain your CHRP designation through the assessment experience, CHRP Candidates will be required to submit a completed application. This application will need to be validated by your current employer. In order to be eligible to submit an application you need to be a CHRP Candidate (someone who has passed the NKE) and have had your proof of degree verified.

The next submission deadline is January 15.

I've been watching people quit their jobs to start companies that compete with their prior companies or start a company upon graduating college.
