Certified B Corps are leading a global movement to redefine success in business. By voluntarily meeting higher standards of transparency, accountability and performance, Certified B Corps are distinguishing themselves in a cluttered marketplace by offering a positive vision of a better way to do business.
Did you know:
- More than two-thirds of employees (69%) consider the social and environmental track record of a company in deciding where to work.
- This preference is especially strong among MBA graduates, who overwhelmingly (88%) have said that they would be comfortable taking a pay cut to work for a company that has ethical business practices versus one that does not.
- The ability to bring their whole selves to work is especially important among Millennials (soon to comprise 50% of the global workforce). Millennials demand work-life integration. Benefit corporations fill this need, providing higher quality jobs at companies with a high purpose that is built to last.
On November 13, 2013, HRMAM and Ian Martin Executive are hosting a discussion about this global movement. We will have a panel of business leaders who have made the journey in leading their own organizations and they will discuss why becoming a Certified B (Benefit) Corporation was key to guiding their companies to a new future and purpose.

Location: Fort Garry Hotel I 222 Broadway
Cost: Members - $115, Non-Members - $125

Worker shortages and finding the right people with the right skills have been issues for Manitoba's business community for close to a decade. In 2012, the BOLD Winnipeg Business Leaders Survey cited labour availability and skills shortages as the top concern. What will it take to address this issue? The Chamber, through BOLD Winnipeg, provides a platform to support BOLD ideas, initiatives and leaders working across all sectors.
HRMAM is pleased to have Dave Angus speak to our members regarding the workers shortage in Manitoba.
