HRMAM offers the CHRP NKE Preparation Course in partnership with the BCHRMA.

This course is designed to help participants consolidate the knowledge they already have and - more importantly - identify where they need to focus additional studying in order to be successful in completing this multiple-choice assessment.

Member Matters

The Gala Committee exists to work with the HRMAM staff to create and assist in implementing the annual Excellence in Leadership Awards. The purpose of the Awards is to showcase outstanding Human Resource achievements in Manitoba. The awards honour employers and individuals who are leaders in diversity, development, impact and innovation. The event also provides networking opportunities and generates revenue for the association.

Responsibilities 

 

  • Determine the strategic direction of the event. This includes the creation of the theme as well as providing input on pricing and the program.
  • Encourage individuals and organizations to submit applications and assist applicants in the completion of forms where requested.
  • Provide leads to staff for potential sponsors. Committee members will receive material from HRMAM for distribution.
  • Committee members may be asked to provide input on event logistics. There are a small number of volunteer opportunities at the event itself.
  • Debrief the event including reviewing the attendee survey.
Time Commitment
Time commitment will vary however, in general committee members will be required to attend one meeting per month (1-2 hours) as well as up to approximately 5 hours per month of committee work.

According to a new survey of job seekers, hiring managers, recruiters and HR executives, close to 100% of job seekers use LinkedIn as their number one social media site for job hunting. Hiring managers also prefer LinkedIn over other sites by two to one. Read more here.
 
Most managers are familiar with the type: one employee who requires more managerial attention than all the rest combined. He or she may be a high performer or a low performer, but a common characteristic is the amount of management time consumed.
