The NKE is an academic exam that is a requirement for many pursuing the CPHR designation and assesses one's knowledge of the Competency Framework. The exam is only offered twice per year, in June and November annually. This course is designed to help participants consolidate the knowledge they already have and - more importantly - identify where they need to focus additional studying in order to be successful in completing this multiple-choice assessment. The Validation of Professional Experience is a formal step in completing the process to become a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) for all routes to the designation. There are three VPE intakes per year. The next submission deadline is May 15, 2017. Have questions about preparing your VPE submission? Attend one of our upcoming information sessions! Continuing Professional Development signifies continued mastery of the CPHR Competency Framework and is a requirement to maintain the CPHR designation. CPHRs are required to report a minimum of 100 hours of professional development activity over each rolling three year period and a minimum of 20 hours each year. All CPHR members must have all activities entered into their online log by May 31, 2017 for the period of June 1, 2014 - May 31, 2017. Have questions about completing your log? The Living Library is an event put on by the Asper Career Development Centre that provides students with an opportunity to engage in conversation with Business professionals about careers in their field. A collection of guests - "human books" can be "borrowed" for up to 20 minutes to get as much information from you as possible. Free flowing conversation designed to de-mystify types of careers and industries is the goal, providing insight into the endless possibilities that exist in the world of work. The Great-West Life Centre for Mental Health in the Workplace has found that negative attitudes towards mental health issues in the workplace are decreasing as well as the number of reported workplaces that are psychologically unsafe. Read more here
