CPD signifies continued mastery of the CPHR Competency Framework, which outlines 44 discipline specific professional competencies. You need to have your log updated by May 31 each year. The CPHR Manitoba annual reporting process for CPD is entirely online - make sure you are signed in as a member. Need help deciding what qualifies as CPD or choosing the right category? This fall, HR professionals from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia are being invited to participate in the Western Canada HR Trends Survey. This survey will result in the production of two reports: the Western Canada HR Trends Report and the Manitoba HR TrendsReport. These reports are tools for HR practitioners and departments in Manitoba to make informed decisions with reliable information on what is occurring in Manitoba’s workplace. Good labour market information can help human resources practitioners make better decisions in giving human resources advice to their stakeholders. We encourage you to watch for and complete this fall's HR Trends survey! Check your email and follow the survey link.
The Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA) seeks to identify, prevent and remove barriers for those living with disabilities in Manitoba. It affects all everyone in our province, building on the requirements of The Human Rights Code (Manitoba) to create a made-in-Manitoba solution. The AMA became law in December 2013 and is now undergoing a review of its accessibility standards that cover the key areas of daily living: customer service, employment, information and communication, transportation and the built environment. The Government of Manitoba is working with representatives from the disability community, as well as public and private sector organizations to develop each of the accessibility standards. Until Friday, January 12, 2018, the public is invited to provide feedback on The Government of Manitoba’s Proposed Accessible Employment Standard Regulation. All electronic comments, submissions and briefs should be sent by email to access@gov.mb.ca. When making your submission, we encourage you to include your CPHR designation as applicable. Should you wish to notify CPHR Manitoba that you have made a submission, please cc by email at hello@cphrmb.ca using the subject line: Manitoba Employment Accessibility Standard. For more details about the AMA, click here to see our recent article.
