Register today! Validation of Professional Experience Information Session - November 21 12pm-1pm click here OR November 22 5pm-6pm click here

CPHR Candidates should attend at least one information session prior to submitting their Validation of Professional Experience (VPE) application. The info session will review the application form in detail and answer your questions related to submitting your VPE. Get your questions answered in person by Lori Brûlé, CPHR Designation Manager.

The Validation of Professional Experience (VPE) requires candidates to demonstrate three or more years of professional experience in human resources within the last ten (10) years (the length of experience required depends on the path taken).

The VPE requires Candidates to demonstrate experience at the professional level, which means that you must be using technical HR knowledge and have a level of autonomy in the application of your HR knowledge. Duties that are purely administrative requiring no HR knowledge are not considered.

For more details about the Validation of Professional Experience, please click here. Can't join us? Contact Lori Brûlé, CPHR Designation Manager by email at lori@cphrmb.ca or by phone at 204-943-3624.

While cleaning up your home and yard for fall, don't forget to update your CPHR designation!

1. For CPHRs, make sure you've updated the designation on LinkedIn, your business card, your email signature, and any other public profiles.

2. If you've recently achieved the CPHR designation, add it to your last name on your LinkedIn profile and under the "Certifications" section and on all other public profiles. Click here to see Nish Verma, Chair, Board of Directors, CPHR Manitoba's LinkedIn profile.

3. If you are a new CPHR Candidate, add the title to you last name on LinkedIn and on all other public profiles.

Keeping your CPHR designation updated is a great way to be a brand ambassador for the designation and CPHR Manitoba!

Did you know there are alternate paths to becoming a CPHR including a non-degree path?

CPHR Manitoba's new non-degree path recognizes HR knowledge and expertise gained through professional HR experience. Here are the top reasons to achieve the CPHR without a degree:

Proven Expertise - By pursuing the CPHR designation, you will prove your ability to tackle all aspects of HR and demonstrate to employers and colleagues alike that you are a true HR expert.

Continual Learning - To maintain your designation, you will be challenged to continually update your knowledge and skills in HR.

Demonstrated Commitment - By pursuing your CPHR, you highlight your long-term passion for the profession. You join the class of HR professionals that employers seek out.

Knowledge Community - As a CPHR, you are part of an exclusive, nationwide community of HR experts. Through special events, conferences, publications and websites, you can connect with other HR professionals across Canada.

Ethical Behaviour - CPHRs are held to the CPHR Manitoba Code of Ethics & Rules of Professional Conduct. You earn the confidence of your employer, colleagues and peers with the knowledge that you are committed to a Code that demands the highest standards for the profession.

The 2017 Human Resource & Leadership Conference came to a successful close on Tuesday, October 31 after two full days that included 17 sponsors, more than 300 delegates, 4 keynote speakers and 14 concurrent sessions. Full details here.

The theme of this year’s event, ‘Leverage’ represented Human Resources and Business coming together to leverage their strategic advantage.

‘Leverage’ is found in the points where data meets experience, where technology touches motivation, where analytics enrich leadership. Speakers and delegates converged at these points, with valuable discussion and networking.

We made a couple of significant changes this year to enhance the delegate experience. One was to move the new side of the RBC Convention Centre which features lots of natural light.  The other, which was in part due to the change in space, was to limit the conference to sponsors only to recognize their important support of the conference and the association.

With the conference taking place during Halloween, we held a pumpkin decorating contest for sponsors. Congratulations to Facilitated Solutions who took top honours and to delegate Jennifer Tarrant, CPHR who won a complimentary ticket to the 2018 HR Legislative Review (a value of $395).

A big thank you is owed to our speakers who advanced the human resource profession by sharing their knowledge and expertise.

To all the delegates - your dedication to the profession and desire for personal and professional development are appreciated. You are driving business excellence and your organizations will undoubtedly benefit.

Post-event evaluation surveys have been sent to all delegates. We appreciate your time and feedback to complete your evaluation.

One winner will be drawn from those who complete the survey to receive a complimentary registration to the 2018 CPHR Manitoba Conference. Thank you again, we look forward to seeing you next year.
