The NKE is an academic exam that is a requirement for many pursuing the CPHR designation and assesses one's knowledge of the Competency Framework. The exam is only offered twice per year, in June and November annually.

In-person Prep Course

HRMAM offers an in-person prep course in partnership with the British Columbia Human Resource Management Association.

This course is designed to help participants consolidate the knowledge they already have and - more importantly - identify where they need to focus additional studying in order to be successful in completing this multiple-choice assessment.

Upcoming Submission Deadline

The CPHR Validation of Professional Experience Assessment (VPE) is a formal step in earning the CPHR designation that requires Candidates to demonstrate professional experience in Human Resources.

To gain your CPHR designation through the assessment experience, CPHR candidates will be required to submit a completed application. This application will need to be validated by your current employer. In order to be eligible to submit an application you need to be a Candidate (someone who has passed the NKE or received an NKE waiver) and have had your proof of degree verified. Applications are accepted three times per year.

The next submission deadline is January 15.

As we celebrate the HR Excellence Awards in April 2017 and promote the launch of our new designation name, CPHR, the role HR plays in driving business excellence should be recognized and celebrated.

Articles published in HRmatters are eligible for CHRP Continuing Professional Development hours.
