Friday, March 3 was Crossover Day in the Georgia General Assembly, marking all bills that did not receive passage in their chamber of origin as dead until next Session. Your GTLA Lobbying Team advocated for your clients' rights until the final gavel of the evening at 10:45 p.m., and we are happy to report it was a successful day under the Gold Dome. GTLA was tracking 13 bills between the two chambers on Crossover Day, all but one of that passed with the input of our lobbyists. In total, GTLA is now tracking 19 bills that are still seeking final passage by both chambers before Sine Die (Day 40). With only two weeks left in the 2017 Legislative Session, the Civil Justice PAC is closing on one of its most successful fundraising quarters to date! Sine Die will not only mark the end of the Legislative Session but also the startup of candidate fundraising again. As we prepare for another successful election cycle, it is imperative that we have the funds to support our friends and ensure the election of pro-Civil Justice candidates to the legislature and statewide offices.
