Environment and Climate Change Canada has developed a plan to review a list of regulations within a 10-year period. It includes the rationale for the regulatory review, information on last date of review or amendment and a departmental contact point for each regulatory initiative.

Environment and Climate Change Minister Catherine McKenna and Chair of the California Air Resources Board Mary Nichols signed a memorandum of understanding on June 26, 2019 to enhance cooperation on measures advancing clean transportation.

The Ministère de l'Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques (MELCC) and the California Air Ressources Board (CARB) announced that the next joint carbon market auction will be held on August 20, 2019.

As part of the work that Transport Canada is doing with harmonization of Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, they are seeking industry input on the demand for road transport of non-odourized propane.

The Canadian Propane Association/Propane Training Institute has been making a number of changes to update and modernize PTI training material, as well as ensuring that it corresponds with any changes made to codes, standards or regulations.

The CSA Group has launched an online platform that allows registered users free access to Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) safety standards published by CSA Group referenced in federal TDG regulations. Users can now log into Communities of Interest and register to find the TDG View Access site here.

The official publication of the Environmental Emergency Regulations (E2 Regulations), 2019 in the Canada Gazette, Part II, occurred on March 6, 2019. The E2 Regulations will come into force on August 24, 2019.

Recently at the CSA Technical Committee meetings on Tanks and Portable Tanks for the Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Transport Canada provided several regulatory updates. 

New editions of standards CSA B339, CSA B340, CSA B341 and CSA B342 are effective since December 31, 2018.
