On Tuesday, September 18, the Progressive Conservative Government of Ontario announced that it will introduce legislation that, if passed, would encourage private gas distributors to develop projects that expand access to natural gas. The CPA is calling upon all Ontario members to join the association and take immediate action by writing to your local MPP.

The province of Nova Scotia is expecting equity with other provinces when it comes to a contentious carbon pricing program. In August, the McNeil government submitted some details to the federal government on their proposed cap and trade system, but has yet to release details to the public.

On September 10, 2018, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador Dwight Ball announced the signing of a bilateral agreement with the Government of Canada under the Investing in Canada Plan that will provide more than $555 million in federal funding over the next decade for community infrastructure projects.
